Presentation Day

Yay, we got our images loaded onto a rewritable CD, with Susannahs help, and although it kept saying the disc would not accept the images they were there!
Four of us on the disc and we projected onto the wall, it worked and made sense - we all looked very clever and knowledgable about Photoshop.
Brilliant result, thanks to Keiren, Rodney and Racheal and various classmates who were at the right place at the right time.

Myth, legend? Who was actually crucified?

I think women came out of this crucifiction rather badly i.e. Mary as the Virgin mother was pure and her love unconditional, then there was the prostitute Mary, apparently a platonic relationship there. But as it happens the rest of us who aren't capable of a virgin delivery and who haven't yet been driven onto the streets - 80% to 90% fall into some odd category between a slut and a virgin. At one stage being a witch was a fahionable alternative apparently - perhaps I should draw in a small fire at the base of the cross?

I really wanted to transfer an image of Hermes (mythical? messenger of the Gods) in the bottom left of the picture but it all became too awkward.

Back after holidays and disaster strikes; Hermes image not down loaded and spent over an hour trying to isolate it and transfer it to my image - unsuccessfully. Will try today to put what I have onto my blog............

Week 10 Learning to set up for a Presentation

Excitement, today with Rodney's help I managed to overlay my drawing. Learnt how to copy and paste my image then how to move it around without stretching it - hold shift key down. Learnt how to reduce size to make it appropriate - edit, transform then click the tick to apply.I was having trouble just moving my second image around the screen - didn't realize you had to place the arrow on the top blue box.
Used the clone stamp, again I didn't realise you had to press ALT Gr to fix a selected piece, and that a right click gave diameter alternatives.
I found the Hermes image and down loaded it - saved it and maybe tomorrow will be able to transfer what I have done to my blog! All small triumphs. I am listing all these so that you can appreciate the level of understanding that some of us arrive at Polytech with!

The tutorial was good, Rodney had gone to a fair amount of trouble, burning CDs of his version of selected artist work and then getting us to tangle up cords and plugs setting the projectors up. IF I had to, and I admitted to him that I would try and avoid it, I could set up for a presentation.

Week 9 Vector Art

This workshop was taken by Rodney and we all had photos taken of ourselves which we endeavoured to rework with the aid of vectors and Adobe illustrator. I was going OK until some one asked Rodney how long it had taken him to get the image of himself done and he said about 4 hours the previous day and I instantly knew it would mean at least 40 hours work for me.
Still have not manged to get my pic transposed..another week another opportunity to hunt Kieran down.

Remix Week 8

Successfully scanned an image by Michelangelo, Crucifixion for Vittoria Colonna, and a drawing of mine. But....... found the layering difficult to grasp and cutting around the object tricky until Kieran showed me how to use the pen pad. Came in Friday 5th and managed to understand layering a little better by playing around , however I still have not managed to successfully transpose my image onto Michelangelos!

Remix

I have been keeping a rough diary of what I have been doing for my weekly assignments but have decide to put this on my blog tonight...
week 7:
Photoshop with Kieran was instructive and I managed to down load a few images from the wikipeadia site - unfortunately I was so over excited about getting them I neglected to save them! However I shall get back to that , an image of Hermes I really liked.
I want to get an image of Christ on the cross and superimpose a woman in his place, with Hermes looking on as he passes by. It appeals to me.
